Dear Julia Butterfly Hill and COL,
I am Nate Sonoras. I am 10 years old and I am a homeschooler. I wanted
to write to you and tell you about the list of things I made for my
family and me to use. We want to remember the 5 Rs list.
I made this list and had my mom and step-dad sign it
and put it on the refrigerator so we would all remember to respect,
rethink, reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Here is my list:
Respect, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
by Nate Sonoras, Adrian, Michigan
-
Buy and use recycled paper.
-
Cut back on buying things because producing things destroys the
environment with corporate pollution.
-
Recycle all of our plastic, aluminum cans, glass, cardboard, and
paper.
-
Give our old clothes and linens to Goodwill instead of throwing
them away.
-
Carry a travel cup with us so we don't have to use disposable
cups.
-
Walk and ride bikes more to cut back on pollution and fuel use.
-
Cut car trips to as few a day as possible.
-
Limit garbage to one bag a week.
-
Do not use disposable plates, cups, and plasticware (unless reusing).
-
Reuse our grocery bags by taking them to the store instead of
getting new ones each time.
-
Keep looking for new ways to Respect, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse,
and Recycle.
I hope you like my list. I want to help keep our world
clean and safe for us, the plant life, and the animals.
