The Luna Tree Sit
On
December 10th, 1997, 23 year old Julia Butterfly Hill climbed
180 feet up an ancient redwood she calls Luna and has not
come down. In the American tradition of civil disobedience,
she is conducting her courageous vigil on behalf of one of
the last wild places left in our country, the remaining 3%
of our magnificent old growth forests. |

This
website is an effort to broaden her audience, to bring her
courageous stand literally into peoples homes around the world.
Via her solar powered cellular phone, Julia phones in a weekly
message hoping that you will participate in her struggle and
lend her strength to stay in Luna until real and lasting protection
is received for our remaining unprotected redwoods and last
ancient forests.
Enjoy
and learn about Julia's struggle by traveling the pages
of this web site. Please keep this in mind: Her heroic efforts
will mean little unless people like yourself follow through
with action on behalf of our last ancient forests.
Join in solidarity with Luna, Julia and all those who are
speaking out on behalf of our last old growth forests.
